Beatrice Klose

Beatrice holds degrees in Business Administration, European Studies and International Management from universities in Germany and France. She has lived and worked in Germany, the USA, France and Belgium.

In 2001 she started working for Intergraf, Brussels, the European Association representing the graphic industry, and took over the position of Secretary General in 2003. At Intergraf, Beatrice focuses on environmental issues, competitiveness of the industry as well as standardisation and social issues, and runs the large section on security printing, which offers a platform for security printers, suppliers and customers world-wide via the Security Printers, International Conference & Exhibition.

Her involvement in the development of security printing certifications dates back to 2001 with the setup of the first CWA Certification, followed by the CWA for Suppliers and the ISO 14298 Standard in 2013. Beatrice has spoken on the development of the graphic industry at numerous conferences.

Tony Dean

Senior Technical Consultant

Tony served with the UK Immigration Service for 10 years, five of which were in the National Document Fraud Unit (NDFU) as an advisor to UK Government departments on document security.

In 2005 he joined the UK Passport Office to take responsibility for the design and introduction of new identity documents of the United Kingdom. In 2013, Tony joined De La Rue to work within their identity management business providing technical support to new passport and identity projects.

He is a member of the ISO SC17 Working Group 3, and ICAO’s New Technologies Working Group (NTWG) and Implementation and Capacity Building Working Group (ICBWG).

Georg Hasse

Head of International Sales, Division Homeland Security

Georg studied Business Administration in Germany, the UK and the USA and holds a European Executive MBA from ESCP Europe, Paris.

He started his career at Rheinmetall, Germany and went on to serve as Director of Strategic Government Programs at Crossmatch. At secunet he held various roles including Head of Consulting, in the Homeland Security Division, and Head of Marketing, PR and Internal Communications. At present Georg is heading the International Sales department of secunet's Homeland Security Division.

Georg has over 15 years' experience in Biometrics & eIDs and is an active member of the German Biometrics Working Group and of the Biometrics Institute (BI).

Previous projects in which he was involved include ePassport Germany & Thailand, eVisa Germany & Sweden, Automated Border Control EasyPASS in Germany & EasyGO in the Czech Republic, etc.

Dieter Sauter, Chairman

Managing Director, Banknote Printing

Dieter studied Physics at the University of Tübingen and the University of Stuttgart. From 1996 to 2000, he worked as a Scientific Assistant at the Institute for Nonmetallic Inorganic Materials, University of Stuttgart and joined the Bundesdruckerei GmbH, Berlin as a Project Manager, Research & Development Division in 2000, becoming Product Manager, Process Engineering at Robert Bosch GmbH, Reutlingen in 2002.

Between 2005 and 2006, Dieter worked as a Patent Coordinator in the Banknote Printing Division of Giesecke & Devrient GmbH, München. In 2007 he took over as Regional Sales Director of the Southern & Eastern Africa Banknote Printing Division.

In 2011, Dieter became Head of Research & Development at Orell Füssli Security Documents Ltd, Zurich. He was appointed Head of Security Printing Division and Chief Technology Officer of the Orell Füssli Group on 1 April 2014.

Dieter took over as Chairman of Intergraf's Committee of Experts in October 2016.

Claudia Schwendimann

CEO OeSD International

Österreichische Staatsdruckerei __ Austria

Claudia has been working in the security document business for 15 years and is the CEO of OeSD International, a daughter company of the Austrian State Printing House. She advises governments of different countries on how to accommodate the special needs in e-passport and eID projects based on ICAO recommendations and modern production technologies.

Claudia is the Austrian ISO representative for MRTDs to ICAO and is contributing in various official roles to the eMRTD development (member of ICAO’s Technical Advisory Group, member of ICAO’s Implementation and Capacity Building Working Group, and chairperson of the Expert Advisory Committee of FastPass Project for Automated Border Management).

She studied Sinology in Vienna and Beijing and received her Executive Master’s degree in Business Administration from California State University, Hayward. She recently graduated as Master of Law and Economics at Imadec University, Vienna.

Tony Poole

Tony has more than 20 years’ experience in government business development, marketing, management and public policy. As an expert in counterfeit deterrence technologies, he leads AJW’s Document Security practice and supports industry leading companies in formulating and implementing strategies for the development, introduction, and adoption of high security production equipment and sophisticated anti-counterfeit security devices/documents for major agencies of the United States Government.

Leveraging his counterfeit deterrence expertise, Tony has been an active member of the Document Security Alliance for over a decade; prior to his current position as President, he served as Industry Board Member for two terms and as Chairman of DSA’s Program Committee. Tony is a member of the Advisory Board of ID and Secure Document News. He co-founded the Banknote Conference and served as Director for more than 14 years. Tony holds a Bachelors in Business Management degree from James Madison University.
