Teemu Pohjola has worked for Gemalto in various product management and R&D positions for 12 years. As R&D Manager in charge of physical document security for identity cards and passports, he led the development of the technology presented in this paper.

Prior to joining Gemalto, Teemu worked in software algorithm development in a small start-up based in Helsinki, Finland. He earned a PhD in Materials Physics from the Helsinki University of Technology, where his research focused on electromagnetic phenomena in nanoscale structures.

Today, Teemu heads Gemalto’s physical document security product management worldwide.
