Dasho Penjore holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) from Delhi University, India and a Master of Arts in Economics from Northeastern University in Boston, USA.
Dasho joined the Currency Management Department of the Royal Monetary Authority (RMA) of Bhutan in 1988, where he steadily rose through the positions of Head of Division of its Research and Statistics Department (1995) and Programme Director of its Finance Sector Development Programme (2001) to become Deputy Managing Director of Policy and Programme (2003).
In 2006, Dasho was appointed Chief Chamberlain to His Majesty the King of Bhutan. Two years later, he was conferred the Red Scarf and title of ʽDashoʼ for distinguished service to the nation.
From 2014 to 2015, Dasho served as Chief Executive Officer of National Pension and Provident Fund of Bhutan. He was appointed Governor of the Royal Monetary Authority in December 2015.
