After studies in Belgium and the United States, Francis Goossens started a career in IT, in the niche sector of high-end computer graphics. He worked closely with major national printing works worldwide for several years, assisting with the conversion of traditional to digital banknote designs. He then turned to the production stage and became Production Manager of the Thomas Greg & Sons security printing plant in Colombia.

With over 25 years of experience in the security printing industry, Francis is now Corporate Technical Manager of Thomas Greg & Sons, a function in which he is responsible for research and development, as well as business and product development.

Her career has been based at the Bank of England, covering a range of roles including: oversight of payment and settlement systems, financing of small businesses, graduate recruitment, Private Secretary to the Deputy Governor and, immediately prior to heading the Notes area, Deputy Head of the Special Resolution Unit.

Present across 12 countries, Thomas Greg & sons offers a vast portfolio of security solutions and products.



About passports and birth certificates

Much has been said about fraud shifting from passports to breeder documents. But what has really been done about it? With birth certificates being typically national documents, change often depends on national or even local governments, with different ministries involved. This presentation will look at what Colombia is doing to improve the birth certificate and its functionality.
